Lewis Hamilton took pole and led all but eight laps, holding off the charging Kimi Räikkönen for the win.
Stoner passed Pedrosa for second early on, and at about two-thirds distance slipped by Lorenzo to then pull away for the win. Dovizioso and Crutchlow moved up to fourth and fifth after Spies crashed exiting the Corkscrew. Rossi had a high-speed crash locking his front when braking into the Corkscrew (15th).
At Indianapolis, Jimmie Johnson had the pace over the field, leading most the race and taking a seemingly comfortable win. Stewart qualified twenty-eighth, and struggled throughout the race to make progress, eventually scraping into the top-ten.
Player Scores

Non-entries get 292 according to the 90% rule. The tie-break count-back rule does not apply for either pair of equal totals, so we have two winners plus two players in third (with column-order led by time-of-entry).
Very well done indeed to iomracer and Drewe for high-scoring wins. iomracer has two previous wins, one outright and one tied. This is Drewe’s fifth win, four tied and an out-right win when he was equal on points (with iomracer) when the tie-break rule did apply.
Spies’s crash saw some rock-solid scores in MotoGP, with the two winning players taking a 1-2-3-4-5, also with Gavin and I picking the top-four. All our picks in F1 finished eighth or better.

RubberGoat regains the second-place he lost to Maverick last week. Chris unfortunately missed the week but hung onto fourth by a decreased margin. iomracer moved a few points closer to Pat. Drewe took seventh off The Speedgeek, with Andy also unfortunately missing his entry.
There are four events this week without as many obvious safe choices as the week just gone, so we may see a wider spread of points affecting positions on the leaderboard.

All I can say is, gee I’m glad I didn’t risk a pick on Schumacher? I almost did play a risk card, didn’t even realize I made the same pics as Iomracer, thought I was the only one to pick Carl

There was not that much choice when it came down to it. I was wavering between Button (whom I picked), Crutchlow (which would have made it a three-way tie for the win) or Stewart (would have ended up with eight points less than I did).

Congratulations to my co-winner Drewe. For me I credit the stability of MotoGP for my win.
Finland is a tricky pick since it’s somewhat specialized with its high speed and lots of jumps. Knowing the stages is a big advantage, so I think the results are unpredictable outside of these five:
1) Sebastian Loeb
2) Mikko Hirvonen
3) Petter Solberg
4) Jari-Matti Latvala
5) Mads Ostberg
All indications are that Latvala will give up a spot in the rally for Solberg if it comes down to it, since Petter is still in with an outside chance for the championship and Jari-Matti is not. Doubt that’ll make any difference to peoples picks.
My other picks are…
Indycar:
6) Ryan Hunter-Reay
7) Helio Castroneves
8) Will Power
ALMS:
9) #6 Luhr/Graf
10) #16 Dyson/Smith

Seb, there’s a very good chance I may miss the deadline next week – is there any way I can make my picks in advance?

Yeah, there were three initial stages tonight in Finland. This gives the current state of play.

Nothing notable has happened to any of the main contenders. I do notice no sign of Henning Solberg yet again.

Tough choices, – WRC is almost a wildcard these days!
WRC -
Loeb
Hirvonen
Latvala (wildcard – hopefully he doesn’t bin it!)
Solberg (P)
Atkinson (He’s out of touch, but was always fast, hoping for a good drive!)
Indycar –
Power
Castroneves
Dixon
ALMS –
#6 Muscle Milk (Luhr/Graf)
#16 Dyson (Dyson/Smith)

Drewe – for what its worth I think Atkinson is a good choice in Finland. He’a currently leading the Asia rally championship, and in Finland he’s driving Al-Nasser’s car which is almost a factory Citroen. In fact there’s a rumor that the Qatar rally team maybe taking over Citroen racing operations next year (to reduce costs for Citroen who have been struggling with car sales this year).

Hi Seb,
Thanks for that – if next week is NASCAR only, then here are my seven picks:
1) Clint Bowyer
2) Tony Stewart
3) Kurt Busch
4) Brian Vickers
5) Jimmie Johnson
6) Jeff Gordon
7) Greg Biffle
If I manage to make the deadline I may edit these…
